Sintered Oil-Impregnated Bearings

A sintered oil-impregnated bearing is a sliding bearing in which a porous metal body manufactured with powder metallurgy methods is impregnated with oil, meaning the bearing lubricates itself during use. The oil inside the bearing forms a lubricating film when it seeps out to the sliding surface due to the pumping action and heat resulting from the revolution of the shaft.

Automotive Parts

Internal components throughout a vehicle contain powder metallurgy parts. From gears and bushings inside the engine and transmission to sliding door bushings and everything in between, PM is a common part of any vehicle.

Home Appliances

Commonly found in cooling fan motors in a variety of home appliances, but found in many home appliances wherever a bearing or bushing is needed. The oil in the bearing creates a product that rotates very quietly which is important for products used around the home.

Office Equipment

Printers, copies, scanners and more will often incorporate an oil-impregnated bearing. Along with the reduced noise level, the self-lubricating aspect of the bearings ensures a long life with little to no maintenance.
